Private Gardens
As an independant Cornwall memorial garden, we can provide you with a beautiful, tranquil memorial plot. A place where you can visit and remember happy times with your loved one in a dedicated location.
More Info
The gardens have been laid out with a geometrical form based on grass left to grow or mown at different heights.
Natural planting ensures that the gardens blend into the surrounding Cornish countryside and make the most of the stunning natural countryside views.
These remembrance gardens are open to both people and pets.
The gardens have been built with a refined granite set and plants chosen from a professionally chosen plant list.
There is a wide selection of plot sizes and locations to choose from.
Garden Designer
Joe Kestell is an RHS Wisley trained gardener with 40 years experience.
Joe has brought his years of experience, training and local Cornish knowledge to this project to help create a truly unique memorial garden.

Funeral celebrants provide an alternative, more personal lead for a non-religious ceremony. This style of ceremony centres much more on the precious memories of mourners, how the person lived life and their unique personality. In short, celebrants focus on the ‘celebration of life’ that cherishes your loved one’s precious memory.

Susan Hearn
Director
Susan Hearn is the director of Kernow Special Memories. Born and brought up in the area, she worked for 14 years for Dignity Funerals Ltd, successfully managing a range of roles. These included Memorial Consultant and Crematorium Manager. At that time she also worked as an independent Funeral Officiant.
Susan soon developed a reputation for being empathetic, compassionate and enthusiastic: providing a first-class service. Having lived all her life in SE Cornwall, she has useful local contacts and knowledge, ensuring that her clients get the best service possible.
Although there are many Civil Celebrants Susan believes that her unique experience, positive drive and determination to provide the best, sets her apart from everyone else.
Our Team
Kernow Special Memories is able to offer the whole arrangement if requested, making a difficult time simplified and less stressful for all concerned. Susan can be on hand from the beginning to the end of the process to assist you: A friendly sympathetic face when you need it most and someone to assist you with your needs. (This could include liaising with a Crematorium directly, on your behalf, sorting arrangements if, as a family you are wanting to conduct the whole service yourself.)
Susan understands very clearly how important family is having 3 children herself which keeps her busy and she has felt the pain of bereavement losing her beloved dad to cancer.
In addition to setting up Kernow Special Memories, Susan also manages another family business: A shop on a thriving caravan park, part owned by her mother. This has given her experience and expertise in business planning as well as an excellent work ethic. Susan says that, by using her past experience, knowledge and expertise, she wants to help people navigate through a challenging situation, at one of the most difficult times in their lives. She believes that she will be able to give sound advice right from the early stages of bereavement and then enable them to proceed with the complex arrangements that are required.
Karen Brown
Florist
Karen’s love of nature and gardening encouraged her to re-train as a Bespoke Florist.
Having been in the care of the elderly sector and learning much about compassion and understanding, a chance meeting with Susan started a friendship that has developed to encompass their mutual care and respect for the families of the loved ones to whom they must say a final farewell.
Karen has created a variety of floral tributes from traditional to modern and themed. Rest assured that whatever you require Karen will create your personal tribute with care and compassion for you all.
